Winter Wonderland

Hello everyone and a happy belated new year!

I hope you all had a lovely time over Christmas. Thank you so much for all your lovely commissions. I had a great time working with you to create special arty gifts for your friends and family. I thought I’d share a few of them with you in this blog post. Along with a thank you for supporting some of my winter Markets...

Winter Market

A big highlight for me over Christmas was the Winter Market in Manchester! A great day with so many amazing local businesses selling their work. Lots of Christmas cards, tree decorations and illustrated prints of mine were on sale. I was so thankful to those that came and supported my work and bought a little something. I can't wait to see you all there again next year!

Illustrated Memories

Thank you to all those that asked me to recreate a memory. This map of Mozambique was so vibrant and colourful to make. Beautiful fabrics from their trip were amazing to draw patterns from and work in to the map outline…A lovely idea. As you probably know by now drawing landscapes is a particular favourite of mine, especially landscapes from the Lakes. This commission was very exciting and I loved working with the customer to create the perfect memory of this couples first date. A stunning autumnal walk round Derwent Water with beautiful views and a hot flask to share.

I had the privilege of illustrating several beautiful houses in December. Here’s one of the projects I worked on. My process for illustrating these is similar to my landscapes. Drawing from photos to first create the outline and then filling in the different areas with printed pattern and colour to create different textures. I also loved the added idea to use this illustration on some greeting cards to send to friends and family as well as a final art print.

Poems and Verses

I absolutely love reading through some of the poems and verses you ask me to illustrate. Combining imagery and words has always been one of my favourite sort of projects so this sandy beach scene along with this poem was a dreamy project to work on. Hearing about what the words mean to you and the people you are gifting them to is so special. I also worked on several bible verse artworks. This verse from John was a little secret Santa gift which I thought was a great idea!

Thanks for having a read about some of my December projects. Another wedding stationery blog coming your way soon!
